When I was a little girl, I was always fascinated with style and teeny-bop magazines—embarassingly because of my love for The Backstreet Boys. This was the time where internet was still dial-up and creating unique MSN Messenger user names was an internet thing. So, creating a “magazine” straight from bundles of computer paper felt more of an ambition rather than an arts-and-craft project—knowing that no one in the world is going to see this, but in a way, I thought I could pretend. I would gather beauty and fashion ideas, write “opinions” and “updates” on celebrities, and hand drawn my own graphics and “magazine sections.” Yes, I had a vivid imagination.
Then, came the era of Xanga and Myspace. Now, this was where my creative juices flowed because the transfer of ideas from mind to reality was so effortless. These didn’t really require much compared to “blogging,” but it was a quick and easy way to express how I felt that day and that was where I discovered my style of writing.
I’ve always had a passion for fashion and lifestyle. The idea of putting together an outfit is not just something you “throw together,” but it does have some artistic value. Lifestyle and travel has always been a part of my life. My dad was in the military so we were always moving from country to country. The exposure to different cultures and sites are both very intriguing and humbling. With moving from home to home, I’ve found redecorating and arranging my room to be my favorite part of the move. Now that we have our own home and “adulting,” I am able to bring my bedroom decorating ideas in the big scale.
Although I do find myself in a creative block at times, I do find inspiration with other bloggers, so, I hope my blog also brings some inspiration to your already creative mind.
